Public Transit
The San Mateo County Transit District (District) is the administrative body for the principal public transit and transportation programs in San Mateo County.
- SamTrans bus service, including Ride Plus, and Paratransit Services (Redi-Wheels for the Bayside and RediCoast for the Coastside).
- Caltrain commuter rail.
- San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA).
Caltrain and the TA have contracted with the District to serve as their managing agency, under the direction of their appointed boards.

Caltrain is a regional rail service between San Francisco and San Jose with 31 total stations. There are 11 full-time stations in San Mateo County, with one (Broadway) that has weekend-only service. Visit www.caltrain.com or call 800-660-4287.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is a regional rail service that connects the San Francisco Peninsula with communities in the East Bay and South Bay.
